Privacy policy

We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data economy.

When you access our Internet offer, the following data is stored on our web server for technical purposes:

  • The IP address of your computer or a proxy server from which the access is made,
  • the date and time of access,
  • the access method, such as “GET” or “POST”,
  • if applicable, a page from which the file was requested (referrer),
  • if applicable, input values from you (e.g. a URL or a file name),
  • the amount of data transferred,
  • any error messages that may have been triggered,
  • type of browser used (UserAgent).

This data is only evaluated statistically in order to track which content is called up and how often. Furthermore, the data may be forensically evaluated in order to track unauthorized access attempts. Data is not passed on to third parties and no user profiles are created.

Ultimately, you decide for yourself which data you make available to us. When contacting us via web or e-mail, please note that these are not secure services. Your contact person will be happy to provide you with his S/MIME certificate or a PGP key.

Cookies

We use cookies to provide you with the best possible user experience and to analyze traffic to our website. You always have the option to change your personal cookie settings in the cookie settings.

Google Analytics

This website uses the “Google Analytics” service, which is provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA), to analyze website usage by users. The service uses “cookies” – text files that are stored on your terminal device. The information collected by the cookies is usually sent to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

However, personal data such as name, address or other contact details are never transmitted to Google Analytics.

IP anonymization applies on this website. The IP address of the user is shortened within the member states of the EU and the European Economic Area. This shortening eliminates the personal reference of your IP address. As part of the agreement on order data, which Vasgard GmbH has concluded with Google Inc., the latter uses the information collected to evaluate website use and website activities and provides services associated with internet use.

You have the option of preventing the cookie from being stored on your device by making the appropriate settings in your browser. It is not guaranteed that you will be able to access all functions of this website without restrictions if your browser does not allow cookies.

Furthermore, you can use a browser plug-in to prevent the information collected by cookies (including your IP address) from being sent to and used by Google Inc. The following link will take you to the corresponding plugin: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

Here you can find more information about the use of data by Google Inc.: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en.

Newsletter

We use the provider CleverReach to send our newsletter. The service provider is CleverReach GmbH & Co. KG, Schafjückenweg 2, 26180 Rastede, Germany (hereinafter “CleverReach”). CleverReach is a service with which the newsletter dispatch can be organized and analyzed.

When registering for the newsletter, the data entered in the form fields are stored in order to provide the newsletter. The server location for data storage is Germany.

The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. Your email address, the time of registration and the IP address used for registration will be stored for as long as you subscribe to our newsletter. The service is provided via a double opt-in procedure. In the course of this procedure, you will receive an email with a link to confirm that you are the owner of the specified email address and wish to receive our newsletter. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time by clicking on the link contained in each newsletter.

We have concluded a contract on order processing (AV) according to Art. 28 GDPR with CleverReach. This is a contract required by data protection law, which ensures that this processes the personal data of our website visitors only according to our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

hCaptcha

We use the hCaptcha security service (hereinafter “hCaptcha”) on our website. This service is provided by Intuition Machines, Inc., a Delaware US Corporation (“IMI”). hCaptcha is used to check whether user actions on our website (such as submitting a login or contact form) meet our security requirements. To do this, hCaptcha analyzes the behavior of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis starts automatically as soon as the website visitor enters a part of the website with hCaptcha enabled. For the analysis, hCaptcha evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, how long the visitor has been on the website, or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis will be forwarded to IMI. hCaptcha analysis in the “invisible mode” may take place completely in the background. Website visitors are advised that such an analysis is taking place if the user is not shown a challenge.

Data processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) of the GDPR: the processing of personal data is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the website visitor is party (for example, the website terms) or in order to take steps at the request of the website visitor prior to entering into a contract. The website operator needs to ensure that it is interacting with a human, not a bot, and that activities performed by the user are not related to fraud or abuse. In addition, processing may also be based on Art. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR: the website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its site from abusive automated crawling, spam, and other forms of abuse that can harm the operator or other users of our service. IMI acts as a “data processor” acting on behalf of its customers as defined under the GDPR, and a “service provider” for the purposes of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
